Ingredients
- 200g red beans
- 80g rock sugar
- 600ml water (for cooking)
- 3 black tea bags
- 300ml boiling water
- 150ml evaporated milk
- 30g condensed milk
- 2 cups crushed ice
Steps
- Soak red beans overnight or for at least 4 hours. Drain.
- Add soaked red beans and water to a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until soft.
- Add rock sugar and continue to simmer until dissolved and red beans are tender and slightly thickened. Let cool.
- Place black tea bags in a heatproof mug or pot. Pour boiling water over tea bags. Steep.
- Remove tea bags. Stir in evaporated milk and condensed milk until well combined. Let cool completely, then chill.
- In a tall glass, add a layer of sweet red beans.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice.
- Pour the chilled milk tea over the ice.
- Add another scoop of sweet red beans on top, if desired. Serve immediately.
