- Pork spare ribs, cut into 1.5-inch pieces: 500g
- Pumpkin, peeled and cut into 1-inch thick slices: 300g
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
- Red chili, sliced (optional): 1
- Light soy sauce: 1.5 tbsp
- Oyster sauce: 1 tbsp
- Sugar: 1 tsp
- Sesame oil: 0.5 tsp
- Shaoxing wine: 1 tsp
- White pepper: 0.25 tsp
- Cornstarch: 1 tbsp
- Water: 1 tbsp
Steps
- Rinse pork ribs and pat dry. Marinate with light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, Shaoxing wine, white pepper, minced garlic, cornstarch, and water for at least 20 minutes.
- Arrange pumpkin slices evenly on a heatproof plate.
- Place the marinated pork ribs on top of the pumpkin slices. Sprinkle with sliced red chili if using.
- Prepare a steamer by bringing water to a rolling boil.
- Carefully place the plate with ribs and pumpkin into the steamer. Cover and steam over high heat for 18-20 minutes, or until ribs are tender and pumpkin is soft.
